It’s the devil’s day!!! 666! Ooh… Anyhoo… I’m supposed to be studying for my Microbiology exam this Friday but the mood just isn’t right… That plus my head is still somewhat throbbing from lying down too much. Yup. Me sick… again. Think I caught a viral thingie from Weng. Surolan’s down with the same symptoms too.
Was actually feeling very lousy yesterday so I decided to call in sick and get some rest. Then, I got a phone call from work at about 10am with some problems. I wasn’t really sure about it cos I wasn’t in town when a particular arrangement was made for a foreign job applicant to come down for an interview. Well to cut a long story short, she had to go back immediately and I was supposed to sort it out. Dang! I messaged Surolan but she only replied after I had gotten dressed and was flagging down a cab. So I ended up back at work to find out that Cliff was on top of things already.
Since I was back at work, I tried to get some work done. It was quite difficult concentrating as I kept getting chills and stomach spasms and breaking out in cold sweat. To make matters worse, Uncle Chan had to come round to pick up some stuff for the East and they expected me to help carry heavy stuff just because I was big sized. Bloody idiots. I did so rather unwillingly and I’m ashamed to say I snapped at Uncle Chan when his needling rattled my nerves. So after depositing an autoclave machine (rather forcefully) in his van, I stormed back upstairs to put up with another wave of spasms and chills.
Again, to cut the story short, I ended up working till 7. I guess that really did me in cos this morning, I really couldn’t raise my head without vertigo setting in. So I didn’t go to work. By the time I was able to crawl out of bed (Literally considering my condition and the fact that I have a loft bed), it was almost 5pm. Being the sucker that I am, I actually found myself automatically logging in to the clinic network and answering emails. After a shower, I felt a bit better so I started doing the Staff Leave Record.
Big Mistake! Welcome back vertigo!
I then decided to crawl back into bed and watched cartoon network till I fell asleep.
By the way… I got a new TV!!! 22” LCD!!!

Ok… side tracked…
I woke up about an hour ago and felt better. So I decided to try studying. That lasted like maybe 10 minutes and I’m now typing out a blog. Ha ha ha.
On another note, I just visited Bangkok last week with Weng, She She, SLM, Coa and Fandi. It was quite fun and EXTREMELY WARM!!! I really didn’t know which was worse… the heat or the air pollution.
We did quite a lot of shopping and eating (like all Singaporeans) and it was loads of fun despite the sweltering heat. Shopping with She She was quite scary though. She will insist on bargaining on everything and gives us dirty looks when we accept the first price quoted. The “highlight” of the trip was when our flight was delayed coming back.
It was my first and will be the last time I fly with a budget air carrier. We booked a flight with Thai Air Asia and I found out what is excluded due to the low fares. SERVICE. The staff were unfriendly to a point where I actually thought that they were rude. That plus the stupid flight delay. We had a 6pm flight back from Bangkok and were scheduled to arrive back in Singapore around 930pm. When we arrived at the departure gate, we found that the passengers from an earlier flight had already been waiting for their flight for 6 hours. We had absolutely no information as to what was going on as the staff were actively trying to avoid eye contact with the growing mob around the service counter. Eventually, they announced that due to a technical fault, our flight would be delayed to 10pm. The compensated for that by offering us a cold hamburger and a bottle of water from Burger King each.

Stuck at the departure gate...
Since we had already checked in most of our luggage, we had not much stuff with us to keep ourselves entertained, so I tried to create a deck of cards out of a piece of paper and a pen. After 30 minutes of tearing and drawing, I only had half a deck (Diamonds and Clubs) so I gave up. Weng, She She, SLM and I then decided to go back upstairs to the departure hall to browse the shops and we spent an hour trying on expensive sunglasses and “testing” perfumes. She She bought a bowl of Bubor Hitam which contained spoilt coconut milk. That resulted in her taking an MC the next day. Ha ha.
Ok… gotta go now. HBO’s showing Van Helsi… I mean I have to get back to studying.
Toodles!
