Tomorrow, I'll have a solo presentation on Blood Transfusion Anaphylactic Reactions. I only started working on it last night. Thankfully it's only a 5 minute presentation so I can make do with the information I got off the internet. I just need to beautify my presentation and add some pictures when I get home from school tonight.
Exams are in exactly 2 weeks' time and I have yet to start studying. There's just no drive to study. All I want to do each day when I get home is to do jump into bed and sleep. Instead, I end up doing assignments till 2 in the morning and having a 4 hour nap before getting up for work at 6. Hmm... 2, 4, 6...
Thank goodness for people like Alisa,Weng and Kimmie who constantly encourage and remind me that it's only till the end of the year. If not for them, I would have totally given up.
Oops... lunchtime is almost over. Will continue after work.
....
Oh my god... I was so busy after lunch... Lab requests were arriving from all directions. They came through the pneumatic tubes, they came via porters and they also seem to appear out of nowhere. One minute It seems as though I was about to finish my stack of lab request forms and the moment I shift my focus to the computer monitor, another 3 stacks magically appear.
Anyway, class just ended and I just boarded the bus. It's an hour long journey home so I'm going to put it to good use by blogging. I just got myself a Sony Ericsson W960 just before the chinese new year and it is great for mobile blogging.
My only complaint is that the battery life is quite short but then again, I charge my phone everyday when I get home anyway so this short battery life could be better in that I get to drain the battery before chargingi t and in the long run, it should extend the lifespan of the battery.
Other than that, I'm starting to get used to the smartphone interface. The touch screen can sometimes be a problem due to my large fingers but overall it's still quite all right.
Oh yah... it does suck that there's no direction pad though. That means that certain games are not playable.
The built in Opera web browser functions well although the bloody Singtel customization has replaced the interface with a musicVibes application. Took me a while to realise that it was the Opera browser.
The 3.2mp camera is way better than the miserable one in my last phone, the W850 and the addition of an autofocus makes it even sweeter. That, along with the huge crystal clear display is giving my digital camera (Sony of course) a run for its money.
One of the reasons why I was attracted to this phone was the integrated Wifi capabilities although upon using it, I can't really tell if if it is the wireless internet connection or the GPRS at work cos frankly speaking, it feels the same to me.
Applications wise, the media conversion software bundled with the phone does a good job converting pictures and ripping music although you have to pay for an upgrade to the Pro version in order to convert videos. A good Mp4 converting software will do the trick although the Sony software will convert and transfer with a simple drag and drop.
The built-in Walkman player rocks as usual. The latest update enables you to tag each song with a particular mood, namely Happy, Sad, Energetic or Chill. Then depending on your mood (I suppose you are only limited to these 4), just create a playlist based on the songs associated with the mood. Nothing like sad songs to make you sadder. Ha ha ha ha ha
Sound playback on the built-in speak is quite good. You can play up to moderately bassy songs without hearing any crackles and I'm not sure about others but it does seem a little louder than the W850. Speaking of sound, my favourite application, Track ID is still available. This time though, it's integrated with the sound recording utility and the worst bit is that the option to send the identified song via SMS is gone although you can save the details as a webpage.
Another disappointment is the disappearrance of the Bluetooth Remote Control. I loved using that application in school during presentations. Looks like I'll have to come up with something else for tomorrow's presentation.
Overall, in terms of aesthetics and functionality, this baby has not let me down... well... not too much.
